This 2-day course on Functional Neurosurgery covers both Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and stereotactic lesioning. All aspects of anatomy, patient selection, targeting, surgery, programming, follow up and troubleshooting will be presented by experts and pioneers in the field.

Presentations and debates by leading speakers in the field of Neuromodulation updating all on recent research and developments. The conference aims to bring together neuromodulators (consultants and trainees) as well as scientists.

This 2 day course is an interactive, case-based set of workshops of neuroradiological imaging. Each delegate is provided with a radiology workstation which contains a database of imaging viewed on a software that simulates how a clinician would view images at work. Each workshop is jointly taught by a Neuroradiologist and Neurosurgeon with discussion centered around the interpretation and diagnosis of neuroradiological pathology, core to neurosurgery followed by correlation of the imaging to the neurosurgical approach. During the workshops, there will be teaching on the application of the different types of imaging modalities and basic applied physics to enhance the learning experience and understanding. Learning points will be reinforced with bite size presentations during the sessions. There is no didactic lecture based teaching. Neurosurgical Trainees ST1-ST6

The Liverpool Paediatric Neurosurgery Masterclass is a specialist educational event designed for healthcare professionals involved in the care of children with neurosurgical conditions. Delivered by leading experts in paediatric neurosurgery, the programme provides the latest insights into clinical practice, surgical innovation, multidisciplinary management, and patient outcomes. Through expert presentations, case discussions, and interactive learning, delegates will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, share experiences, and explore current challenges and advances in paediatric neurosurgical care.

This course is aimed at ST3-ST8 level trainees and subspecialty (skull base and cerebrovascular) fellows. Teaching of the approaches are tailored to the specific needs and experience of the individual trainee. This workshop is co-organised by the east and west of Scotland training programs. The program includes complex surgical procedures which cannot be performed by trainees without prior cadaveric exposure. It covers the whole armamentarium of intracranial approaches and provides fundamental insight to very complex procedures. The focus is on enabling trainees to safely approach superficial and deep seated vascular and benign intracranial lesions arising from or being in proximity to the cranial vault or skull base. Trainees will gain a heightened appreciation of the critical structures encountered through these approaches.

The primary aim of this course is to help to improve the ability to manage often difficult and challenging cases in a simulation environment and share your experiences with like-minded colleagues to gain further understanding and additional skills to manage situations expertly. In collaboration with B. Braun Medical Ltd, it is aimed at trainees, ST1-ST6, providing the relevant knowledge and skills to adequately mange neurosurgical on-calls and ultimately help improve patient care. The Queen Square Simulation Centre is proud to announce its 3rd annual Advanced Cranial and Advanced Spinal cadaver courses in June/July 2026, to be held at The Griffin Institute, Northwick Park. The courses will have two delegates per cadaver and a high faculty to delegate ratio, giving ample opportunity to learn advanced hands-on skills from eminent faculty from London and beyond.
