To commemorate the SBNS 100th Anniversary, Jonathan Pollock, SBNS Archivist, has been working tirelessly on a new history book for the Society, building on the work of the late Tom King, whose original book covered the period 1926–1990.
Jonathan has undertaken a tremendous amount of research, delving into the SBNS archives and interviewing pioneering senior neurosurgeons. He has brought together their stories in a fascinating new history book, A Short History of Neurosurgery in the UK and Ireland: Influences, Founders and Units, recently published by CRS Press.
The book is available through Amazon and Routledge, or you can purchase a copy at the SBNS100 Meeting. Jonathan will be speaking at the conference and signing copies. It’s a great opportunity to discover more about the history of neurosurgery in the UK and Ireland — and to meet the author himself!
