Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation Congress

Professor Hutchinson attended the Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation Congress in Banff, Alberta in May and delivered the annual Penfield lecture established in 1979 to honour pioneering neurosurgeon Dr. Wilder Penfield, renowned for mapping the human brain and advances in epilepsy surgery. The Canadian Neurological Sciences Congress is the annual meeting of the Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation and constituant societies including The Canadian Neurological Society,Canadian Neurosurgical Society, The Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists, The Canadian Association of Child Neurology, The Canadian Society of Neuroradiology and The Canadian Stroke Consortium. Professor Hutchinson’s lecture “Resucing the Injured Brain” recognised the achievements of UK and Irish Neurosurgical Centres in conducting translational and clinical research.
