This cadaveric course is designed to teach endoscopic and open anterior and posterior approaches used in paediatric neurosurgery in the microsurgical cadaveric lab covering basic shuntology for paediatric hydrocephalus. The aim is to familiarise neurosurgical trainees, of any level, with common operative approaches in paediatric neurosurgery using frozen cadavers to aid anatomical understanding.

A one-day conference examining the impact of human factors in healthcare. Featuring renowned experts in human factors and safety, this year’s event will focus on the role of human factors in advancing education, leadership, and well-being.

Embracing Collaboration in Neurosurgery

The aim is to help to improve the ability to manage difficult and challenging cases in a simulation environment and share experiences with like-minded colleagues to gain further understanding and skills to manage situations expertly. During this 2.5-day course, participants will explore the trajectory, morphology, and functional anatomy of major white matter tracts, cortical structures and subcortical brain connectivity through hands-on white matter dissection labs, DTI-based tractography session, and interactive lectures. Additionally, participants will be introduced to brain mapping techniques, fMRI, neuroanesthesia and neuropsychological considerations.

Paediatric neurosurgical rotation or on-call can be daunting due to lack of patient exposure and conditions. It’s crucial for trainees to be equipped with the fundamentals of managing patients to safeguard and improve patient care.
