Hands-on 1-day course of theory and practice, featuring expert-delivered lectures and exciting practical simulations. The event will focus around the various approaches to the spine, and the latest tips and tricks to ensure safe access - utilising the latest in innovative simulation models from UpSurgeOn to translate practice into reality.

A 2-day online course with speakers and researchers from computer science, neurosurgery and biomedical backgrounds who will teach the key concepts and knowledge required to appraise AI/ML literature and how it applies in neurosurgical practice and across the clinical neurosciences. This will be through lectures, workshops and small group tutorials.

A one-day foundation course introducing trainees to the principles of robotic-assisted surgery within the contemporary multi-platform robotic environment, with focused practical exposure to the Cornerstone Sentire Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) System. Delegates will learn platform-independent principles of safe robotic surgery, theatre workflow, human factors and emergency procedures, while gaining hands-on familiarity with the Sentire system, including docking, system components and fundamental console skills. This course is aimed at early years Surgical Trainees (CT1-CT2/ST1-ST6)

The primary aim of this course is to help to improve the ability to manage often difficult and challenging cases in a simulation environment and share your experiences with like-minded colleagues to gain further understanding and additional skills to manage situations expertly. In collaboration with B. Braun Medical Ltd, it is aimed at trainees, ST1-ST6, providing the relevant knowledge and skills to adequately mange neurosurgical on-calls and ultimately help improve patient care. This course is aimed at ST3-ST8 level trainees and subspecialty (skull base and cerebrovascular) fellows. Teaching of the approaches are tailored to the specific needs and experience of the individual trainee. This workshop is co-organised by the east and west of Scotland training programs. The program includes complex surgical procedures which cannot be performed by trainees without prior cadaveric exposure. It covers the whole armamentarium of intracranial approaches and provides fundamental insight to very complex procedures. The focus is on enabling trainees to safely approach superficial and deep seated vascular and benign intracranial lesions arising from or being in proximity to the cranial vault or skull base. Trainees will gain a heightened appreciation of the critical structures encountered through these approaches.

This 2-day course on Functional Neurosurgery covers both Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and stereotactic lesioning. All aspects of anatomy, patient selection, targeting, surgery, programming, follow up and troubleshooting will be presented by experts and pioneers in the field.
