BMA

The BMA Foundation for Medical Research awards research grants each year (totalling approximately £780,000) to encourage and further medical research in a variety of areas. One of these grants, the Vera Down, is to assist research into neurological disorders. Applications are invited from UK-registered medical practitioners that are members of the BMA and can be for either research in progress or prospective research.

In 2021, the Vera Down grant will be awarded for an amount up to £65,000. This grant, and other BMA Foundation grants will be available to apply for online on the BMA Foundation website from 01 March 2021. The application deadline is 7 May 2021. Parkinson's UK Project Grants 2024

Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurodegenerative condition and it is Parkinson's UK mission to tackle major Parkinson's research challenges with groundbreaking studies that get right to the heart of complex problems

Parkinson’s UK is offering project grants to researchers from UK universities, NHS Trusts, statutory social care organisations or other UK research institutions to accelerate breakthroughs in the understanding and the treatment of Parkinson’s.

The maximum duration of a project grant is 3 years and the size of the award is usually up to £400,000, with the average amount awarded being £250,000.

The deadline to apply online for project grant preproposals is Wednesday 10 January 2024, by 4pm.
