NNAP ANNUAL REPORT 2024
We are delighted to present the 2024 NNAP Annual report. It combines a number of national analyses pertinent to neurosurgical activity, training and registries and we hope that the data is of interest to a wide variety of neurosurgeons. This is the first iteration of what we intend to be an annual report, to partner the mortality benchmarking data that NNAP has been publishing for some years. As such, there may be aspects of neurosurgical practice that we will not have covered, and we would be keen to hear from the SBNS membership as to further avenues to explore in future reports.
Special thanks go to Daniel Thompson, NNAP fellow, and Adam Williams, Co-chair NNAP for the huge amount of effort that has gone into producing this report, and to my predecessor Nick Philips for his wisdom and advice. There are a wide variety of other contributors, not limited to, members of the SBNS Council, SAC, national neurosurgical registry providers and a number of partner organisations. We look forward to seeing you all at the next SBNS, where we can provide a further update on ongoing NNAP work.

SBNS NNAP Chair
Since NNAP was hosted previously there have been many changes in information governance and data security. NHS digital have a robust application process and late last year we succeeded in getting access to some data. During this period we did some work with the data and we would now like to present this to show the potential of the audit. We have made a refined request to the data access request service (DARS) and are currently waiting to re-gain access.
It is essential that we have confidence in the data and we enclose some work on case attribution of the data as well as an illustrative report on cranioplasty in the UK.
