The Society of British Neurosurgeons (SBNS) is seeking applications for two neurosurgical training fellowships in Kingston, Jamaica.  


The posts are available to UK or Ireland trainees of at least ST3 level or equivalent, with or without an NTN. The fellowships will be from August – October 2024 and November 2024 – January 2025. Applicants must be members of the SBNS who have been members for at least 2 years and are in good standing. There is no funding for these fellowships, applicants are encouraged to seek alternative funding including where eligible applying for SBNS grants.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 31st January 2024.  Interviews will be held in London on Wednesday 7th February 2024.  To apply, please email the following documents to Alix Gordon.  

  • Application form 
  • Training Programme Director reference form (NTNs only). The same form can be used if you also decide to apply for the Diana and Alan Karter awards. 
  • Logbook SAC indicative report 
  • Independent reference from a Neurosurgical trainer other than the Training Programme Director 
  • Confirmation that a period out of programme has been considered and supported (or at least applied for) by the local deanery (NTNs only)
