The SBNS and our local Hosts look forward to welcoming you Twickenham.

The SBNS Autumn Meeting will be hosted by SBNS Colleagues at St George's Hospital and will take place from 13-15 September 2023. The Conference Venue they have chosen is the Twickenham Conference and Events Centre which has fantastic conference and exhibition facilities.  It is located in the heart of Twickenham and has excellent transport links.  There is also a hotel on site, The Marriott Twickenham, which will be the dedicated conference hotel.  Please see the travel and accommodation tabs on the side menu for more details.

The SBNS Meetings Committee will be working closely with the Hosts at St George's Hospital to make this an informative and enjoyable meeting.  In keeping with the location, on Tuesday 12 September, prior to the start of the Main Conference, the British Neurotrauma Group led by Prof. Mark Wilson OBE will be the subspecialty group joining the meeting and running a session on Sports Injury.  To find out more and to register click on the Sub-specialty Meeting tab.  Trauma will also be the subject of the Life Long Learning Session on Wednesday morning.

On the 12 September the Neurological and Neurosurgery Students Interest Group (NANSIG) will be running a neurosurgical skills workshop for medical students at the Conference venue. To register and find out more click here

The Main Meeting, 13-15 September, will include Eponymous Lectures, a Hot Topics Session, Breakfast Seminars, plenary talks from experts in their field, free papers and posters on numerous neurosurgical topics and much more!  Please check the Academic Programme tab in the lead up to the meeting for regular updates.  We hope to have the preliminary programme available on this page by Mid-August.

Abstracts are welcome on all neurosurgery related topics from the neurosurgical community at all levels.  The abstract submission line is now open – click on the Abstract Submission tab on the side menu to submit your abstract.  The line will close on 22 May 2023 at midnight.

For those who have attended SBNS meetings in the past they will know that it is not all work and no play and that we always have some enjoyable social events and this meeting is no exception!  On the evening of Wednesday 13 September we have a Welcome Reception which will be held at Twickenham Stadium. Food and drinks are included in your registration fee.

The more formal Gala Dinner takes place on Thursday evening and will be held at one of Britain’s historic sites, Hampton Court Palace, where we hope to serve up a banquet fit for the Kings and Queens of neurosurgery. Delegates will also have the opportunity to roam round the beautiful grounds and view some of the stately rooms before taking their seats for dinner in the great banqueting hall.  Dress code is Black Tie.    Please click on the Social Events tab for more details.  Please book early as this will be a popular event and places are limited.

The registration line will open in June 2023 – the early bird rate will apply until the 6 September 2023 and will close at 3pm. After that date onsite rates will apply.  Please click on the Registration tab to register.

An extensive exhibition will be held throughout the meeting with neurosurgical companies exhibiting their latest products and innovations.  Several neuro related charities will also have stands in the exhibition so please take the time to pay a visit to the stands to show your support.

If you wish to exhibit at the meeting please click on the Sponsors tab where you can download the sponsorship prospectus.  Please contact Alix Gordon  if you have any queries relating to sponsorship and exhibiting at this meeting.
