The SBNS has developed a restricted list of ICD 10 codes and OPCS 4 codes with which it is possible to code nearly all neurosurgical procedures. All neurosurgeons are encouraged to use these codes exclusively.

The electronic logbook operation codes have been extended a little beyond the SBNS procedure codes to allow adequate assessment of training. However all logbook codes have been mapped back to the SBNS codes. The mapping file is given below.
